We have partnered with a global financial company that is hiring for Partner Development Manager in the San Francisco Bay area.
Job Summary
The Partnership Development Manager (PDM) is responsible for market development, account management for existing agents and new sales (independent and small chain, retail store fronts) in the assigned territory. The person is responsible for professionally promoting all Company products to new and existing retail establishments with the goal of achieving sales growth in their respective territories. The position also is tasked to develop and execute territory business plans, coordinate efforts with territory partners in a team environment, accurately complete routine reports and be compliant with regulatory and company guidelines. In addition the position manages product promotions, including point of sale signage, field marketing tactics, and communication with agents. The focus of this role is on the Account Management side with some Sales included.
Expectations
70% of time will be spent on ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT. Plan and manage corridor and product (Money Orders, Company Money Transfers, Bill Payments, and prepaid Cards) strategies to drive volume growth in coordination with marketing managers, corridor managers and product managers. Use all available data and reporting to identify growth opportunities within territory. Manage and grow existing accounts in territory. Ensure agent retention through relationship-based management and customer contact (in person and telephone). Coordinate internal and external resources to enhance sales relationships. Provide account information, customer requirements, and other incidentals related to the sale, to ensure high quality service, problem resolution, and efficient account management.
30% of time will be spent on SALES. Generate leads, call on prospects, evaluate business position and work with sales support functions. Identify additional selling opportunities and promote sales growth for established agent locations. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of Company products and services, as well as competitor products and services, to further educate business owners and decision makers. Follow up on changes of ownership to maintain existing business and create new selling opportunities. Effectively manage renegotiations and renewals of existing accounts. Ensure adequate agent coverage within designated territory. Maintain up-to-date database to document sales call information, trends, future call objectives, sampling data and overall territory performance.
Understanding and knowledge of what makes money move.
Leads for new business will be self generated in addition to calling on existing businesses and owners with 5 or less stores.
Communication with the Regional Partnership Manager will consist of a weekly team meeting call each Monday. Initially the PDM will speak daily with the RPM for at least a month while ramping up. Communication will be as needed after ramp up.
Reports are not required. All activity is documented in and can be viewed by the RPM.
Territory is the Bay Area
Position will be home based within the territory, preferably San Jose. The PDM will be provided with a Blackberry, laptop, printer and corporate card for travel.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
A recent college graduate with a basic understanding of business is an ideal fit for this position. They must be fully bilingual and cultural in English and Spanish.
Education:BA/BS degree in related field preferred or equivalent work experience required.
Years of Experience: 3-5+ years experience in a field sales role, selling and servicing retail customers (grocery, convenience, pharmacy, check cashers) Demonstrated expertise in independently planning, managing and executing sales strategies required.
We will consider someone with less than 3 years of experience but no more than 8.
A self-starter, with excellent time management and organizational skill required.
Proven negotiation and sales closing experience. Consultative selling/marketing expertise and relationship management skills required.
Talent in tailoring communications to the needs and perceptions of the customer. Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as demonstrated presentation abilities required.
Ability to drive change. Contribute new ideas to stimulate process changes and question why we do things the current way required.
Strong PC skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office required. Knowledge and proficiency with Goldmine a plus.
Ability to work well independently in a team environment. Ability to work with all levels within the organization required.
Must reside in geographic territory required.
Fully bi-Lingual required (English/Spanish).
Understand the Hispanic culture.
A valid driver’s license is required.
Overnight travel required 30-50% (Travel will be approximately 2-3 times per month after training. In the beginning the PDM will travel more while ramping up.)
Travel up to 50% domestically
Compensation is base + commission. Candidate has the potential to double their base in the 1st year. Base starts at $45k DOE.
