Overview:
Capacity Management has overall responsibility for ensuring that there is adequate IT Capacity to meet required levels of service and for ensuring that senior IT management is correctly advised on how to match Capacity and demand, and to ensure that use of existing Capacity is optimized.
Key Accountabilities:
Produce Capacity plans and management reports by evaluating trends on existing systems and working with the Delivery and Development teams to understand future roadmaps.
Identify capacity requirements early enough to take into account procurement and implementation lead times.
If additional hardware is needed, assisting the formation of the implementation plan by working with internal OP's team and business partners.
May involve talking to internal customers, vendors, peer teams and management.
Assist with the tracking and tasks associated to any capacity management work.
May assist with data purging activities based upon business requirements for retention and archival.
Assist in creation of retention and archival policy creation and implementation of the policy.
Assist with storage/server backups, trending and possibly implementation of new tools or processes.
Drive the discovery on current systems to confirm we are backing up what needed to be backed up from both a business and technology perspective.
Skills Summary:
BA/BS Degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
Task management.
Technical background in capacity management.
Good analytical and reporting skills
