Overview:
The Product Manager, Marketing Systems is responsible for gathering input from a variety of internal and external sources to define detailed requirements; evaluating systems and technologies to meet those requirements; responding to the needs of customers throughout the development process; and tracking development, deployment and post-deployment activities. The Product Manger works closely with cross-functional teams during the entire lifecycle of product development. The Product Manager proactively identifies problems that arise in the project, outlines options, recommends solutions, and escalates as needed. Strong candidates should possess a proven track record of leading and developing teams, working and influencing in a cross-functional context, and using data to drive decision-making. The Manager will draw on his/her experience to build relationships and maximize the output of his/her team.
Key Accountabilities:
Effectively communicate the business goals to the business and technical teams to ensure precise, stable and scalable solutions that meet given objectives.
At the project level, coordinate team efforts and activities between technology teams and internal and external business partners.
Assign project responsibilities as necessary and work to develop and assist other team members to meet deliverables.
Effectively communicate across business and technology teams to define scope and constraints.
Gather and write business requirements for the technology projects related to marketing systems and data.
Propose suggestions for process and/or system improvements for data quality.
Present and secure approval from senior management and other key stakeholders, as necessary.
Anticipate upstream and downstream impacts of the project and works with internal business groups to adjust business tools and practices in order to support new features and functionality.
Skills Summary:
BS/BA Degree.
6-9 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: product marketing, product/program management, systems/business analysis.
Expertise in Data Warehousing, BI and Analytics tools, marketing systems and technologies. Strong analytical, prioritization and negotiating skills.
Proven ability to manage team efforts to achieve project success.
Attention to detail and well organized.
Proven ability to write effective data and process documentation (including business and system requirements, business process diagrams and data flow diagrams).
Technical proclivity to learn new systems / technology for future incorporation or integration to the customer experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to operate in areas of uncertainty and ambiguity.
Experience with customer data management is preferred.
Internet and retail experience strongly preferred.
